The Florence Elks Lodge No. 611 will sponsor the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30 in Lions Park at Robin Road and Fifth Street in Florence.

The fun will kick off when the Easter Bunny arrives in the park prior to the hunts. This year, the first hunt will begin at 10 a.m. for children with special needs and disabilities, followed by hunts at 5 minute intervals in Lions Park in Florence.

In Cañon City, the Mountain View Homes and HomeSmart will host its second annual Easter Egg Hunt from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 30 in Centennial Park in Cañon City. The hunt is free.

In Penrose, the Penrose Park & Rec. will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt from 8:30-11 a.m. in Penrose Park at 401 Park Pl. Other activities include hunts to run consecutively for ages 0-5, 6-8 and 9-12, games and photos.

As the sun rises on Easter Sunday, it will be a reminder of why we celebrate with an Easter Sunrise Service in the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park at 4218 CR 3A.

“This is a very special event for us at the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park,” said Brooklyn Osborne, Marketing and Communications Manager of the Park. “We feel privileged to be able to offer this beautiful and inspiring celebration of Easter to our guests. It is a time to reflect on the power of hope and renewal, and to share that message with our community.”

This year's service will be led by preacher Grant Adkisson of the Canyon Cowboy Church, featuring music, prayer and the message - “Not Guilty,” said a press release. Music will be led by the Canyon Cowboy Church praise team and a free-will offering will be taken during the service to benefit Hope House, whose mission is to empower parenting teenage moms to strive for personal and economic self-sufficiency and to understand their significance in God's sight, resulting in a healthy future for them and for their children.

The main gate will open at 5:30 a.m. Guests will either need to walk across the bridge or take the park shuttle which will be available until 6:20 a.m., a press release continued. Free coffee will be served before the service. Seating will be provided for 400. Patrons are encouraged to dress warmly and bring blankets and lawn chairs if needed.
