The Friends of the Royal Gorge Regional Museum will host its Annual Membership Meeting and Program at 1 p.m. Feb. 1. The program is titled “From Bone to Bullets” and will be presented by dedicated museum volunteers Dr. Mark Van Rhyn and George Stevens.

The program is designed as a hands-on interactive presentation to encourage audience participation. It will focus on a display of the evolution of weapons technology in Southern Colorado from about 1600 to 1875, with an emphasis on weapons as tools rather than as implements of mass destruction. They will use examples, discussion and audience assistance to describe how these tools, to give a different interpretation of what they did, how they worked and their strengths and weaknesses.

The Museum & History Center is located in the City of Cañon City's former Municipal Building at 612 Royal Gorge Blvd. The hours of the Museum & History Center are regularly from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
