As a newspaper journalist who launched my writing career as a 1966 summer intern with the Gazette in Colorado Springs, I never thought I would see the day when my chosen profession would be flowing into the world's gutters and cesspools.

Just like our nation's police are now being portrayed as bad guys for shooting black people in the act of committing a crime, we journalists have also lost all our credibility for not doing our due diligence and not letting the facts and truth get in the way of a false narrative.

When Pontius Pilate asked Jesus "what is truth" (John 18 v. 38), he had no clue that the ultimate truth was staring right back at him.

Today's mainstreaming journalists have now sunk so low that they wouldn't know the truth behind every story they write if it punched them in their noses because they have no nose for real news anymore, just the fake kind.

The Bible, God's basic instruction manual for mankind before leaving earth, is the only true truth for which we should all live our lives.

Anything coming out of the mouths of any human contradicting our Bible is a lie from the pit of hell influenced by the Father of lies (John 8 v. 44).

Most of today's journalists have been taught by liberal professors grounded in socialist ideology from liberal colleges and universities. They are being taught that capitalism is evil, big government bailouts are good and everything is relative to something else, that all truth is relative to what you want to believe.

Translated into today's world of journalism: "Good can be evil and evil can be good," based on your own version of what is truth.

Read II Timothy Ch. 3 to see how that false narrative fits into today's world of liars in chiefs and thieves.

Or, in the classic John Ford, John Wayne 1962 western, "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance," if the truth doesn't fit, print the legend. Never let the truth interfere with a great story.

As a 1969 University of Wyoming journalism graduate, I was always taught to seek the truth and don't print it if you can't find it and don't quote anyone's obvious lies or deceptions.

I was burned a few times over the course of my 42-year newspaper career for not doing my due diligence and believing someone's lies.

But I really mourned over any false story I wrote for believing someone's lies told to me to promote their own agenda.

Today's journalists just don't care when they're exposed and caught purposefully spreading a liar's lies to fit a pre-conceived agenda.

Today's journalists now rank right there with members of Congress in approval ratings, and they all deserve that lowly pedestal they are sitting on, whether it's print or broadcast media.

I am very proud to now write for a Christian-conservative newspaper like the Crusader where God's truths and the Bible are regularly quoted and the liberal lefties are exposed for the liars and deceivers they truly are.

The Crusader is still a beacon of light in today's darkness of mainstream journalism.

After all, in today's distorted news reporting, the 27-years in the making divorce of Bill and Melinda Gates had much more airplay last week than thousands of dying Covid cases in India every day.

Does anyone out there really care if they are divorcing or why?
