As a sixth generation resident of Fremont County, I have (like you) seen many changes to our communities. As a retired public servant, my wife and I have lived across the country, but always planned on returning to Fremont County. We were blessed to return in 2019, retire in 2020, in order to spend time with my ailing mother, quality with friends and family. We also wanted to spend our retirement years in a community where we learned many of our values.
As my Grandmother would say Good Old Fashion Western Values. These values are derived from our faith in God, family, responsibility to our neighbors and Country. I believe that our western way of life, should be reflected in those we elect to office.
This November, I am supporting Dwayne McFall for County Commissioner.
I have known Dwayne for many years, and can attest that he is the same individual I knew more than 25 years ago. He is straight forward, does not tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to know. Dwayne has been a business owner, worked for retail, raised his family here and believes in protecting our Western way of life, our outdoor spaces/uses for all, community event center (Pathfinder Park), protecting our rich ranching/agricultural history for the next generation, as well as advocating for our 2nd amendment rights and looking for economic growth.
What we do not need is another politician who, although may sound suddenly more conservative today than her previous political jobs and considers herself a Progressive. We do not need another connected politician, who desires to make Fremont County like Denver or Pueblo County. We see the results of progressive policies all over our state.
Politicians say many things, they believe the voter will not research or fact check their voting records, claims of accomplishments that are largely over stated. Some refuse to respond to question of public interest or attend public forums. And some, play on concerns of constituents, make promises related to those concerns even when their elected position has zero authority.
I recently read a campaign sign, which states Experience Matters. Agreed, Dwayne McFall is by far more experienced in the needs of Fremont County, not in being a loyal politician.
