Pondering the changing world since my childhood, I realize I must seem like a dinosaur to the current generation. Changes by leaps and bounds in the areas of technology, transportation, education and communication, are just a few of them. I have also noticed a gradual shifting in spiritual values and political views that are very concerning. Growing up while attending a small Catholic school, I was always aware of the need for prayer and also a strong sense of pride and patriotism toward our country. At the start of every school day, we recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag with our hand over our heart. The nuns ran a tight ship and expected much from us. We were taught respect for authority and not allowed to talk back. We were expected to respect each other. Kids were expelled from school or suspended for violating the rules in a serious manner. Parents reinforced good teachers so discipline was not generally a problem. Learning was a serious issue and the values taught have been an asset to me all my life.

The contrast with some of the current students who fill our streets with chants, disrespect for authority, flag burning, looting, damaging property, trashing stores, setting fires etc is so unsettling. Where did these young students learn such incivility and disrespect for the rights and property of others? Why would they think it's ok to block traffic to keep others from getting to work or anywhere else? I know that everyone doing these things is not a student or young. Most of our youth are wonderful and would never think of such behavior. I know that these groups are often led by anarchists and other paid “protesters.” However, I have, sadly, seen many young people rioting, stifling free speech and promoting causes that will surely lead to disaster if followed to their end result.

Politicians in prominent positions continue to call for mobs, violence and destruction. Encouraged by these corrupt politicians, we see mobs surrounding people, screaming and spitting in their faces, and threatening families at homes and businesses. A party that will call for these despicable practices should never again be allowed in any position of power or authority. I believe that most Americans have a good sense of fairness, decency and common sense. It's time for the silent majority to be silent no more. We know that some people are afraid to speak about their beliefs or for whom they plan to vote. We've seen the bloodied faces, and heard the horror stories of assaults both verbal and physical against conservative voters and people of faith, or even differing viewpoints.

It's time for everyone who does not wish to see these tactics continue to come forth and take a stand. Your vote will be the voice we need to oppose the horrific agenda of those who oppose God himself. You know they are on the losing side because theirs is a battle they will not win. We refuse to see our rights and freedoms trampled upon. Our Founders and those who fought bravely with them to overcome tyranny will not have fought in vain if we hold fast to that which we know is true and just. Our basic rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are being threatened, and it's up to us to never let that happen. The promoters of Socialism well know that it leads to Communism. What follows is spiritual and/or physical death. I read an article that told of two professors who were advocating parents' right to kill their living children if they decide they do not want them. Where will the evil end? Apparently, it never ends if Satan gets his way. Please get out and vote. The future of our children and future generations depends on it. Pray for our country.

“The victor will inherit these gifts, and I will be his God, and he will be my son” (Revelations 21:7).

Editor's Note: In this article, the author urged everyone to vote and we can see the effects of what happens when the silent majority stands up for what's right. We voted in the right person, who will take office in January. Glory to God.
