The Florence Pioneer Museum and Research Center and the Florence Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a benefit for the Travis MacKinnon family from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, in the Florence Elks Lodge in Florence. Pizza Madness will be providing lasagna, salad and bread while the FPM and FVFD will provide desserts and coffee. To go boxes will be available. Cost will be $10 a plate. Cash and checks are accepted, no debit or credit cards please.
This benefit is to help with expenses incurred by the Travis MacKinnon family in Arizona during Travis's illness and his following death. He spent time at a Mayo Clinic for treatment and 11 days was in their ICU. Travis is the youngest son of Gene and Gayle MacKinnon of Florence. Travis leaves behind his parents, two daughters, a wife and his brother Clint and Clint's family and several other relatives..
