The title of this week's teaching is the age old question, “Is it God's will to heal?” There is only one place where we can go for a definite answer to that question, and that is to the Word of God. Let's pick up the story of a man who had a very serious problem. This man was a leper and the story begins in Luke chapter 5 verses 12-15. Verse 12 says, “And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “Lord if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Luke tells us that this man was full of leprosy, I can't imagine what condition this man was in and the pain he was enduring can you? But he was in a serious condition. Leprosy was like a death sentence upon the person who had this disease. Now this man had another problem. He knew by his own confession that Jesus could heal him, but he was not sure if Jesus was willing to heal him. And this is a question many face today. Is God willing to heal me?

Verse 14 gives us the answer, “Then He (Jesus) put out His hand and touched him saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately, the leprosy left him. The word that Jesus spoke to this leper still applies today for you and for me, I am willing to heal you. Hebrews 13:8, declares that, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” You just missed a good place to shout right there. He is the same. The same Jesus who healed back during His earthly walk is the same Jesus who heals today. Hallelujah! He hasn't changed, it's His followers who have sunk into unbelief, but thank God He is merciful. We need to take God at His Word and “only believe” (Mark 5:36). Don't look at the doctor's report; look at the report of the Lord, “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24). God looks at your healing in the past tense. Looking back to Calvary, Jesus bore the stripes on His body that we can be free from sickness and disease. Some are waiting for God to heal them, saying “God will heal me in His own time. Well God's time is now. He does not want you to suffer any longer. Let faith arise in your heart and believe His Word. It's time to receive your healing.

Here at Cañon City Fellowship, we pray for the sick and we see God healing them. Just recently a brother was healed of asthma and still more are believing and receiving what Jesus has already purchased for everyone. Come and be healed.
