If your church has a pastor who is solid as a rock, A shepherd God has called to lead your flock, You are truly blessed by the Father above, Because a true shepherd will lead you with love.
A shepherd will feed you from the green pastures of the word, And bring back the ones that stray from the herd. The wolves are out there ready to devour; But the shepherd is watching hour after hour.
He will lead you beside the still waters to quench your thirst. And make sure you are always putting God fist. The Lord will restore your soul every day, As the shepherd leads you and shows you the way.
The shepherd will guide you so you will continue to grow, To prepare you to witness and God's word to sow. The shepherd will show you the Savior's love, How He came to earth from the Father above.
How He died on the cross our soul to save, And three years later he arose from the grave. So follow the shepherd he won't lead you astray, Till Jesus comes back, O Glorious Day.
For the past 21 years, we have truly had a shepherd leading us at Cañon Community Baptist Church. Pastor David Almanzar is a true shepherd and he has led us with love, and taught us with the true gospel of the Bible. We wish him and his wife Robbi the very best in their retirement and the new chapter in their lives. May they have many years to enjoy their families and new home in Kentucky.
As we seek his replacement, we ask for your prayers as it will be some big shoes to fill, but God will provide. He always does. Pray that we will continue to be reaching the lost.
Things to ponder from the old cowboy preacher; A true Shepherd may retire, but he never quits sharing God's word and loving the sheep. I know.
