The Fremont County Community Concert Association (FCCCA) announces final concert of its 2023-2024 season. Brassfire will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 12 at Cañon City High School Auditorium at 1313 College Ave.

The Brassfire trio, led by world-renowned trumpeter Jens Lindemann, is a virtuosic ensemble that features the vibrancy of the trumpet with piano and bass. Classically trained at the Juilliard School in New York City and McGill University in Montreal, Lindemann has led a distinguished and versatile career spanning both classical and jazz music. As the first classical brass soloist to ever receive the Order of Canada, Jens Lindemann is hailed as one of the most celebrated artists in his instrument's history and was recently named “International Brass Personality of the Year” (Brass Herald). Jens has played both jazz and classical in every major concert venue in the world: from the Philharmonics of New York, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Moscow and Tokyo to Carnegie Hall and even the Great Wall of China.

His career has ranged from appearing internationally as an orchestral soloist, being featured at the 2010 Olympics for an audience of 2 billion people, national anthems at the Rose Bowl and for the San Francisco Giants on Memorial Day, performing at London's 'Last Night of the Proms.' recording with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir to playing lead trumpet with the renowned Canadian Brass and a solo Command Performance for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Jens has also won major awards ranging from Grammy and Juno nominations to winning the prestigious Echo Klassik in Germany and British Bandsman 2011 Solo CD of the year as well as receiving several honorary doctorates. He has soloed with many of the world's greatest orchestras.

Concertgoers should prepare themselves for being dazzled by the Brassfire trio as the group pays homage to trumpet legends Louis Armstrong, Herb Alpert and Doc Severinsen. Jens will make an instant connection with the audience and lead them along a delightful path of joy and wonder at the ensemble's choice of music.

Concert highlights will include “What A Wonderful World,” “Hello Dolly,” “Hotter Than Hot,” “A Taste of Honey,” “Whipped Cream,” “Spanish Flea,” “King Porter Stomp,” “One O'Clock Jump” and “How Long Has This Been Going On.”

Single tickets will be available at the door for $20. Students 18 and under accompanied by a member receive complimentary admission. For more information, visit www.fremontcountyconcerts.com, or call Marty at (719) 275-5950.
