Saturday, April 27

9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Biblical Citizenship class will be presented at the Christ First Community Church Fellowship Hall at Eighth and Main St. in Cañon City. Class is free. Sign up through Patriot Academy.com. For more information, call (719) 275-0681. Lunch will be provided.

10 a.m. This free Jr. Paleontologist Day program is open to kids ages 6-12. All kids must be accompanied by an adult guardian. There will be two (2), 90-minute sessions offered. The morning session will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27; the afternoon will begin at 1:30 p.m. The sessions will be identical programs. Limited to one session per child. Space is limited so don't delay. This program is free and open to the public and it does require registration. 2 p.m. Sherry Skye Stuart local historian / author /yoga instructor, will present “The Colorful History of Buckskin Joe” in the Steeple Event Center at 701 Macon Ave.

4 p.m. Chili & Beer will be held at the Florence Pioneer Museum and Research Center at 100 E. Front St. in Florence. This is a fundraiser for the FPM. Ten dollars will let participants pick a handmade bowl from P&G Pottery to keep, and get it filled with homemade chili. Fifteen dollars will get participants a bowl to keep and all they can eat chili. Beer is sold separately at the Brewery across the street. Water will be available also with pop for sale at the Brewery.

Saturday, May 4

8 a.m. RunBlossom is turning 20. Cañon City's oldest running tradition is celebrating two decades of Blossom Weekend fun. Join FAR for the event, beginning in Centennial Park at the Arkansas Riverwalk.

9 a.m. Blossoms in the Park will feature Apache Creek Fiddlers, followed by Hoodoo Honey, Jim Green and to be announced in Veterans Park.

1 p.m. Cañon City Music and Blossom Parade will be held in downtown Cañon City, featuring numerous entries, bands and more.

2 p.m. Drinking Habits will be presented in the Rialto Theater at 209 W. Main St. in Florence. Tickets are available for $15 for adults and $12 for children at City Market, Big D's Superfoods and online.

5 p.m. Cañon City Music and Blossom Festival presents Cluster Duck, featuring Cody Cozz along with local bands Six Bucks & A Flight in Cara Fisher Square.

9 a.m. Blossoms in the Park will feature Church in the Park with Catalyst, followed by Colorado Double Barrel Band and WestRock in Veterans Park.

11 a.m.-11 p.m. Cinyo de Mayo festivities start with a brunch at Florence Elks Lodge No. 611 at 131 E. Front St. Food, fun, games, dancing and more. Proceeds will go to the building fund.
