Ephesians 4:11-19, “And he gave some apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists: and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of faith and the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly jointed together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness to work all uncleanness with greediness.”

Verses 11-16 talks about the church and the proper way for it to function properly and glorify the body of Christ. Every person in the body of Christ (the church) has a duty to perform, and God has given them the ability to perform the gift through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Christ has given us teachers and pastors for our perfecting and edifying that we may become perfect unto the measure and stature of Christ, who is the head of the body. He has done that so we will become grounded in our faith and not tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. But Satan is alive and well in these end times and the liberal churches are helping him through their preaching a watered down gospel that condones sin and its consequences.

Verses 17-19 explains the way of the world and it is a description of exactly what we see in America today. Their minds have been darkened and they have become alienated from God. They are engaging in all forms of uncleanness and their mouth is full of corruption. Their hearts are full of greed, hate and lasciviousness. But the scripture is clear they will pay the penalty for their way of live. For every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Let no man deceive you with vain words; for because of these things cometh the wrath of God.
