According to a press release, 51-year-old Troy Gaza was traveling eastbound on U.S. 50 approximately at 8:30 a.m. July 9. When he exited the ramp for Colo. 115, he reportedly failed to stop at the stop sign while attempting to turn left.

The motorcycle collided with the front of a Dodge Dakota pickup truck. Gaza died at the scene. The 27-year-old driver of the Dodge Dakota from Penrose suffered minor injuries. Speed is a possible contributing factor in this crash.
