We have looked at grace, mercy and faith, and this week we are going to look at hope. From a worldly aspect there are many definitions of hope. All of them leave some part of it to chance. The reason for this is they are all based on humans or things that humans control. So anything we hope for that is dependent on man to fulfill, there is a chance that it will not happen.

Well now we need to look at Godly hope, anything that we hope for, based on God's word or his promises, is in essence not a hope, but reality because God cannot lie or fail. All of our Christian hopes based on God's word will happen, because they are based on God and not man. Most false religions are hoping for some future resurrection or reincarnation, but they are reliant on a dead god. Our hope of resurrection is based on a living God that has already proved it by the resurrection of his Son Jesus, and has promises us that as Christ arose so shall we. Our Christian hopes are a reality because they have already been proven. In this age of lies, false promises, human failures and satanic deception, it is fully time we start putting our hope in a real living, loving, reliant God. We need to read his word, study his promises, and realize that he is our only hope, but not a hope, a reality.

Jesus said “I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the Father but by me.” (fact) “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (fact) “There is none righteous, no not one.” (fact) “For the wages of sin is death.” (fact) “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation: but is passed from death unto life.” (fact) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”(fact)

In a time when you don't know what to believe, or who to believe, put your hope, and your life in the hands of a loving God that has never failed and never will fail us. “The same yesterday today and forever.”

Things to ponder from the old cowboy preacher: Don't bet your life on false hopes, when there is a sure thing, Jesus Christ.
