A vote for Michael Sean Meagher to the Cañon City School Board is a vote for a conservative parent wanting to serve. Policies and decisions the state of Colorado and our local school board make, affect what teachers present to students. Too much valuable classroom time is spent on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and mandated state testing. And we as parents have less and less say while the world has more and more. I don't want our school board going in that direction. Teaching is tough, important, honorable and rewarding. Our schools do a very good job, but healthy committees benefit from diversity. A majority of the Cañon City School Board will be comprised of retired educators. That voice is represented well. Electing Sean Meagher will bring needed balance to the school board. Come to the school board meetings. Get involved. Your voice matters as does your vote.
